Learning objectives

The course aims to provide a transdisciplinary view of the broad topic of extended reality. Aimed at a non-expert audience in the field of Computer Science, the course starts from the basics of the digital representation of information. It is divided into modules that offer a complete view of the subject, dealing not only with graphic and audio aspects but also with ethical and social issues.

The didactic goal is to train people capable of planning an adequate use of the extended reality in their disciplinary domain and bridging the gap with the technical skills required to implement such solutions.

Intended learning outcomes

At the end of the course, participants are expected to have an articulated vision of the characteristics and the potential of approaches based on extended reality in different application fields. Examples range from advanced educational activities to novel approaches to communication, art, gaming, and medical applications made possible by augmented or virtual reality
