The goal of this course is to provide students with the essential physical chemistry concepts needed to understand the behavior of formulations, addressing both theoretical and practical aspects. Key disciplines, particularly colloid and surface chemistry, as well as process technology, play a crucial role in transforming a recipe into its commercial product.
Students will understand the principles involved in creating finished products from a mix of individual ingredients. They will develop a comprehensive knowledge of various chemistry and physics sub-disciplines, as well as the skills to define problems, explore potential solutions, and gather relevant information to develop and articulate solutions for real-world industrial cases. Additionally, students will enhance their ability to think critically, evaluate, design, and conduct research in the formulation field, focusing on the study of raw materials and their impact on the performance of the final product.
